Viking named Player of the Week
December 1, 2011
Following CSU’s upset victory over the highly-ranked Vanderbilt, a CSU student, senior D’Aundray Brown was named the Horizon League men’s basketball Player of the Week.
Despite being his first game for the Vikings since 2010, Brown lead the team in their 71-58 victory against the number-eight-ranked team, Vanderbilt.
Key to the Vikings victory were the team’s 15 steals, seven of which came from Brown.
This is Brown’s first time as Player of the Week, and Brown was voted to the League’s All-Defense Team, but he missed last season as a result of a finger injury, according to CSUVikings.com.
At the game, while the Vikings were able to maintain a lead through most of the game, it was Brown’s efforts that stopped Vanderbilt’s attempted comeback, with Brown scoring five points in the final three minutes of the game.
