The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences launched a new marketing campaign, “The Story of Us,” in September as a way to increase awareness of the school and its programs.

Director of Advancement for CLASS Constance Kopec said that the campaign was spearheaded by Mark Lance, a Cleveland State alumnus. Lance  wanted, she said, to get CLASS’s message and its offering into the community’s awareness.

“He wanted to focus on really unique messages that we have here that we offer through CLASS,” Kopec said. Such a focus includes the Criminology Research Center, the Center for Public History and Digital Humanities and Master of Arts in Global Interactions (MAGI).

Geared primarily to opinion makers, news media, civic leaders and businesses, the campaign has attempted to increase awareness of CLASS as a specific entity within the university, generate interest in the college ,and increase alumni willingness to hire CLASS graduates and create partnerships with CLASS.

The campaign’s website, csuclass.com, radio ads running on WCPN 90.3,  and an email and social media campaign covering numerous platforms are bringing the message to the community.

Because students are active in city locations, and Cleveland State is in the heart of downtown, Kopec says that “‘The Story of Us’ is more focused on human interaction and how we impact people in our classes and our community.”
