Students receive a Regional Transit Authority U-Pass every semester, but may not realize the perks that come with it. Not only can students ride the bus and rapid for free, but they can use the pass to receive discounts on food, places of entertainment and even clothing.
Students can present their RTA U-Pass attached to their Student ID and receive 10 percent off their purchase at Melt Bar and Grille and Piccadilly, an Artisan Yogurt cafe. They can also receive 15 percent off an ice purchase at Tremont Scoops. Students can also receive free chips and queso with a purchase of an entree order.

The Botanicals Gardens, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Natural History Museum and Great Lakes Science Center all offer $2 off admission with a RTA U-Pass. Students can also visit the Greater Cleveland Aquarium and receive $5 off their admission ticket. Vision Yoga and Wellness even offers $5 off each yoga class or $10 off massage therapy.
Cleveland Clothing Co. offers 10 percent off any purchase to students with RTA U-Passes. Other popular clothing stores also have student discounts; all you have to do is show your student ID at the cashier.

“Most students don't know that on Thursdays, we have 20 percent discount days for students,” said Javier Johnson, assistant manager at Villa in Tower City. “It includes sale items and shoes. I try to tell most students I see.”

Other clothing and boutique stores at local malls include Charlotte Russe, Alex and Ani and Pacsun all offering 10 percent off purchases with a student ID. J. Crew, Levi’s, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, The Limited and Kate Spade offer 15 percent off purchases in store. Dockers and Club Monaco offer 20 percent off to students as well.
